Obituary for ELOISE HARVEY

Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 7 at Dreamland Cemetery with The Rev. Dr. Don McDonald, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, February 6 at Brooks Chapel. Eloise was born January 10, 1934 in Montgomery, Alabama to Ocie and Effie Mae Bowden, the youngest of four children. She married Homer Harvey at Leadville, Colorado in June of 1953, when he was serving in the U.S. Air Force. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Canyon having served as both Deacon and Ruling Elder. In past years, she was a volunteer for Special Olympics as well as a Texas State Ombudsman for the Elderly. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, and a brother. Survivors include her husband, Homer Harvey, of the home; a brother, Bobby Bowden, of Jasper, AL; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Homer & Eloise Harvey Women"s Volleyball Scholarship Fund, WT Box 60049, Canyon, TX 79016; First Presbyterian Church of Canyon, 904 19th St., Canyon, TX 79015; or to Dreamland Cemetery, PO Box 38, Canyon, TX 79015.
