Elizabeth Gail Byars, 68, beloved mother, Meme, sister, friend, and retired health food entrepreneur passed away at her daughter’s home in Amarillo, TX on December 27, 2021. She was surrounded by loved ones at the time of her death.

Elizabeth is survived by four children, Anna Gail Robinson and husband Eric Robinson, Arron Trent Cargo, Russell Adam Cargo and Summer Noell Nordland and husband Robert Nordland; as well as her grandchildren, Heather, Bella, Mason, and Chloe; and a large pack of cats and dogs.

She was born in Amarillo Texas on June 6, 1953 to Edwin Duane Byars and Sandra Noell Byars. She was the oldest of two siblings, Roxanne Yarbrough of Canyon, TX and Bart Byars of Ruidoso, NM.

Elizabeth loved raising her children in the beautiful and remote mountains of Lincoln County New Mexico. She enjoyed art, reading, meditation and growing her own food. Elizabeth was firm, passionate and unapologetic about her organic approach to life and alternative beliefs. Her pursuit of health and wellness began with the birth of her children, later as a business owner her practice centered around health, better living, and sharing information. Customers of The Wild Herb Market described her as knowledgeable, caring, wise and accessible.

Her kindness and devotion to her children, grandchildren, family, and community will always be remembered. She will continue to live on in the hearts of loved ones and those she has influenced and touched throughout her life.
