Obituary for EDRIE ALONA MCNEILL STERNENBERG

Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 12 at Dreamland Cemetery for all friends and family. Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 12 at the University Church of Christ. Sweetie was born April 19, 1921 in Wichita Falls, TX to John and Allie McNeill. She moved to Canyon in 1939. She graduated from Canyon High School and attended West Texas College and Abilene Christian. During WWII she was a Flight Instructor at Amarillo Air Base. Sweetie married her childhood sweetheart, Bill Sternenberg, December 22, 1942 in Canyon, TX. Sweetie was a member of the University Church of Christ in Canyon. For many years she worked side by side with Bill at Sternenberg Lumber in the picture framing department. She had a God Given talent for decorating and design. She also worked later at The Furniture Gallery in Canyon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, three brothers, Wayne, Bud, Sonny, and one sister, Mona Hager. Survivors include son, Al Sternenberg and wife, Jeanne, of Canyon; three daughters, Jan Keeling and husband, Keith, of Canyon, Pam Woodard and husband, Ed, of Canyon, Mendy Alair and husband, Jim, of Katy; ten grandchildren, Stephanie Thomason, BC Sternenberg, Kelly Richman, Mandy Howell, Shawn Keeling, Kristy Roberts, Jon Hill, Will Alair, Chad and Adam Woodard; and fourteen great grandchildren.
