Obituary for EDGAR ROBINSON

Memorial Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 6, 2003 at the First Presbyterian Church of Canyon with The Rev. Dr. Don McDonald, pastor, officiating. Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M. at Dreamland Cemetery. Mr. Edgar Robinson was born on October 18, 1920 at Kansas City, Missouri to Elbert and Rosa Clark Robinson. He lived in Canadian before moving to Canyon at age 9. He graduated from Canyon High School in 1938 and married Mattie Ruth Devenport at Canyon in 1940. He was a farmer and rancher in Randall County for sixty-five years. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during WWII. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Eastern Star. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and had served as a Deacon. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Irene Boyle, Mary Pyatt, Lillian Mathis, and Esther Gerhart. Edgar had a life well-lived. He loved working with the earth and raising cattle. He once said he was happiest when farming and working with cattle. He had a great sense of humor and loved playfully teasing family and friends. He was a man of honor and integrity and loved his wife and family very much. Survivors include his wife, Mattie Ruth, of the home; two daughters, Patti McNicoll, and husband, Roger, of Flagstaff, AZ and Jean Fedigan, of Tucson, AZ; one brother, John C. Robinson, and wife, Mary Jo, of Gruver, TX; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Dreamland Cemetery, PO Box 38, Canyon, Texas 79015.
