Eddie Dean Langwell, 75, of Canyon, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2020.
Services will be at 1:00 P.M. Friday, November 27, 2020 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon. Entombment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo.
Eddie was born on October 14, 1945 in Canadian, Texas to Johnnie and Muriel Reames Langwell. He was a graduate of Pampa High School and West Texas State University. He received a bachelor’s degree in criminal science and had his Master Peace Officer.
Eddie married his high school sweetheart, Terry Edmondson, on July 1, 1967 in Pampa. They were married for 53 years.
Eddie’s career began at the Amarillo Police Department. He also worked as a Police Officer for BNSF and was the Chief of Police in Canadian. He retired from the Potter County Attorneys Office as Chief Criminal Investigator.
He and Terry enjoyed going on cruises with the family and traveling with their high school classmates. Sitting on the deck at the family cabin was his most favorite thing to do. He loved his family, especially his grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Muriel Langwell and two brothers, JB Langwell and Garry Don Langwell.
Survivors include his wife, Terry; daughter, Lynn Leigh McCollum and husband, Jerrod; son, Dustin Dean Langwell and wife, Lauren; grandchildren, Ansleigh and Cade McCollum, Tatum, Haiden, and Jackson Langwell; brother, Lawrence Langwell and wife, Glenda; and several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Potter County Employee Benefit Fund, 13103 NE 29th, Amarillo, TX 79111, c/o Brian Thomas.
