Obituary for DORIS DOBBS

Graveside Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, November 4, 2005 at Dreamland Cemetery with The Rev. Dr. Don McDonald, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Canyon, officiating. Doris Dobbs was born on June 4, 1924 in Mason, Texas to John Alva and Jessie Gamel Lindsay. She married L. R. Dobbs at Lamesa in 1946. They lived in Mason then moved to Colorado where they ranched. Later they moved to Muleshoe and farmed, and in 1961 they started Dobbs Corporation (Dobbs floating water pumps). They moved to Canyon in 1964 and continued to operate the Dobbs Corporation until present. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1999, two sisters, Peggy L. Davis and Effie White, and one brother, Jack Lindsay. She enjoyed baseball, bridge games, gardening, walks with friends, and spending time with her family. Survivors include her daughter, Debbie, granddaughter, Tiffany, grandson, Lance, and great grandson, Canon, all of Canyon; her brother, Clay, and wife, Deloris Lindsay, of Mason, TX; several nieces and nephews; and her special canine friend, Pudger. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to the Presbyterian Home for Children, 3400 S. Bowie, Amarillo, Texas 79109, or a favorite charity.
