Obituary for DONALD QUINTEN COX

Don was born on February 6, 1951 in Matador, Texas to L.M. and Leona Cox. He was a graduate of Motley County High School. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a bachelor"s degree in Range Management and was a devoted member of the Texas Tech Alumni Association. He married Debne Clouse on July 9, 1971 in Lubbock, Texas. After several years working with Soil Conservation Service and University of Texas Lands they retired in Canyon. Don was a dedicated husband, dad, son and brother. He enjoyed spending time in his shop working on many projects. He was an avid member of the Audie Murphy Research Association. He was a strong proponent for wind energy, natural resources and conservation. Most often his time was spent supporting each of his grandchildren in their athletic endeavors. Don was a member of First United Methodist Church, Canyon and was active on the staff Parish Relations Committee. He also owned the Coyote Bluff Apartments in Canyon. He was preceded in death by his father, L.M. Cox in 1977. His survivors inclue his wife, Dee of 40 years; two daughters, Cory Ann Miller and husband Justin; Cary Edwards and husband Wes, all of Canyon; six grandchildren, Hunter Campbell, Macki, Brylee and Brenna Edwards, Cash and Creed Miller all of Canyon; his mother, Leona Terry and husband Ellis of Matador; brother Ronnie Cox and wife Shelley of Matador; nephew, Ron cox wife Lauren and son Riley of Lubbock; niece, Shawn Reding, husband Greg and daughter Augie of Sanger.
