Services will be at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at the First United Pentecostal Church in Canyon, with Pastor Larry Ellis officiating. She will be available for viewing on Monday, September 26, 2011 from 10:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the First United Pentecostal Church and on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 from 10:00 A.M. until service time. Burial will be at Dreamland Cemetery. Dolores Leija was born on March 23, 1934 in Cameron, Texas to Maurillo and Eustacia Gaitan Herrera. She moved to Canyon in 1986. She worked for Golden Plains Care Center, now Canyon Healthcare for fifteen years and was a member of First United Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Inez Herrera and Jesse Herrera; a sister, Francis Herrera; and a grandson, Issac Rosas. Survivors include daughters, Ester Quintanilla, and husband, Manuel, of Canyon, Delores Luna, and husband, John, of Canyon, and Rebecca Pedrosa, and husband, Feliberto, of Canyon; sons, Billy Rosas, and wife Gloria, of Amarillo, and Jimmy Leija, of Amarillo; brothers, Juan Herrera, Tony Herrera, of Amarillo, Santos Herrera, of Lubbock, and Isaac Herrera, of Amarillo; sisters, Grace Perez, of Canyon, and Judy Lopez, and huband, Luis, of Tulia; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-eight great grandchildren; and ex-husband, Bennie Leija.
