Obituary for DEWEY LEONARD HUNT

Memorial services will be at 3:00 P.M. on Monday, August 18, 2008 at First Baptist Church of Canyon with Dr. David Lowrie, pastor, officiating. Private committal will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Dewey Leonard Hunt was born on April 5, 1916 in Greenwood, Texas to Make and Berta Ferguson Hunt. He married Louise Redding on August 18, 1934. She preceded him in death in 2004. He owned and operated Sportsman Barber Shop in Canyon, retiring in 1986. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He loved to hunt and fish and watch the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Cynthia Troxell Embery, and a son-in-law, Cloyce D. Troxell. Survivors include two daughters, Gloria Troxell, of Shamrock and Christine DuVall, and husband, David, of Amarillo; three granddaughters, Rhonda Sanders and husband, Jerry, of Austin, Kristy Martin and husband, Calvin, of Amarillo, and Dawn Herrera and husband, Danny, of Oklahoma City, OK; seven great grandchildren, Shaun Sanders, of Shamrock, Bree Ann Glover and husband, J.R., of Austin, Justin Embery, of Shamrock, Brandt Martin and Chelsea Martin, of Amarillo, and Logan Herrera and Danielle Herrera, of Oklahoma City, OK; and two great, great grandchildren, Reagan and Reese Glover, of Austin. MEMORIALS: The family suggests memorials be to the First Baptist Church, 1717 4th Avenue, Canyon, Texas 79015.
