Obituary for DELLA MAE SCHUETTE

Services will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Terry Meyer, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Della Mae Schuette was born on November 4, 1922 on a cattle ranch in Waynoka, Oklahoma to Jesse and Ellen Barber Hull. She was the oldest of ten children and graduated from Waynoka High School. In 1943, she went to Yakima, Washington to work the apple harvest, grading apples. While in Washington, she attended business college and then joined the Waves in the U. S. Navy. She trained in Hunter College, New York and was stationed at the U. S. Naval Receiving Station at Terminal Island, California and later at Coronado Island near San Diego. After WWII, she attended WTSU in Canyon. She married Bill Schuette in Amarillo on August 3, 1947. He preceded her in death in 1995. She was also preceded in death by one son, David, in 1992, two brothers, Jack and Darrell Hull, and one sister, Crystal Burt. Survivors include one daughter, Marilyn Ham, and husband, Bill, of Canyon; one grandson, Jim Bob Ham, and wife, Shannon, of Canyon; one brother, Donald Hull, of Waynoka, OK; five sisters, Carol Lee Kassick, of Wichita, KS, Dorothy Shepherd, Ruth Downs, and Janie Kanaga, all of Waynoka, OK, and Eleanor Blain, of Houston; and three great grandchildren, Daulton Eastin, of Canyon, Kelsey Ham, of Fritch, and Clay Ham, of Canyon. The family suggests memorials be to the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery Fund, 2600 4th Avenue, Canyon, TX 79015.
