Obituary for David Michael Logan

David Michael Logan, 62, of Canyon, entered heavenly rest on Saturday, July 9, 2022.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel.

David was born on August 23, 1959 in Lubbock, Texas to H.E. and LaDelle (Hazelton) Logan. He married Barbara Hutcheson on April 2, 1994 and they were longtime residents of Canyon. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle. He acted as the glue that held the family together; making sure everyone got together around Christmas time, organizing and planning all of the details. He had a servant's heart; always putting other people's needs before his own. David could light up a room with the most infectious smile and the most contagious, booming laugh. He loved to tell stories of his childhood, traveling with his wife; checking things off their Bucket List, enjoyed watching football and was an avid NASCAR fan.

David loved Canyon and its small hometown environment. He was passionate about public service, serving on the City Commission for 13 years. While on the City Commission, he served on the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation Board. He was an extremely active member of Canyon Lions Club, served on the board of directors for Canadian River Municipal Water Authority and led the Canyon ISD "Chain Gang"; a group of guys who run the chains at football games.

David made a career as a sales representative for United Refrigeration where he worked for over 30 years. He started in the industry with TERSCO over 40 years ago. David was always willing to help whenever he was called upon by the company.

David was preceded in death by his father, H.E. Logan and his stepfather, whom he loved like a father, Ernie Watson. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Logan; two sons, Zach Logan and wife Kristi, Zane Logan and wife Cammy; daughter, Charity Sutherland and husband Matt; mother, LaDelle Watson; five grandsons, Kagen and Braden Logan, and Renzyn, Kaizyn and Lexzyn Logan; three brothers, Danny Logan and wife Angie, Jeff Logan and wife Leslie, and Jon Logan and wife Julia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
