Obituary for David Lee Case

David Lee Case, 82, of Canyon, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024. Graveside services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, April 5, 2024 at Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon with Shane Nease, pastor of Living Water Christian Fellowship, officiating.

David was born on July 22, 1941 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Lloyd and Ethel (Parker) Case. He was a graduate of Wichita Falls High School and Texas Barber College. He married Joy Lou Vines of Dumas on September 20, 1969 in Amarillo and they lived in Lubbock before moving to the Amarillo and Canyon area in 1975. They enjoyed bowling in a league together and he loved gardening with his dear wife and father, whom he took care of in his latter years. His passion was golfing, and he became quite good at doing so.

David barbered for many years before working and retiring from Falcon Sprinkler Systems. He was talented with the art of building and carpentry. He worked with his hands and was gifted with the ability to do anything he put his mind to. In his retirement years, David worked as a handyman in Canyon and bought and refurbished homes in the Canyon area.

David was a member of Living Water Christian Fellowship in Canyon and made many trips alongside his pastor to Mexico where they built churches together while taking food and clothing to those in need. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior at an early age and believed in His death and resurrection.

David was preceded in death by his parents, four siblings, Betty and Peggy Case of Lubbock, Emma Jean Case Hale of Austin, and Jimmy Case of Austin, and his beloved wife of 44 years, on November 23, 2011.

Survivors include his only son, Cody Lee Case, who served and fought for our country for ten years between 1993 and 2006 and left as a staff sergeant.
