Obituary for David Allen Hoff
David Allen Hoff, 70, of Canyon, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2022.
Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 14, 2022 at Hillside Christian Church West Campus Chapel with Pastor Greg Corona, officiating.
David was born November 6, 1951 in Madison, Wisconsin to Dale and Charlotte Hoff.
He attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison before graduating with a bachelor’s degree in political science from Metro State College in Denver, Colorado. On May 12, 1984, he married Linda VanGelderen in Breckenridge, Colorado.
David was a firefighter with South Metro Fire Rescue in Denver, Colorado for 33 years. He served as a captain and helped in the training division. David and Linda moved to Canyon 6 years ago and he joined the Canyon Fire Department.
David was an avid fly fisherman. He loved fishing on the streams in Colorado. He was a member of the Ski Patrol in Breckenridge for 10 years and played on a hockey team in Denver.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Linda Hoff; sons, Dan Hoff of Canyon, Matt Hoff and wife, Kelsey of Bozeman, Montana; sister, Sue Hora and husband, Jim; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Canyon Firefighters Association, PO Box 98, Canyon, TX 79015.
