Obituary for DARLENE DAVIS USLETON

Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 5, 2006 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Canyon Ward (8400 Hunsley Rd) with President Bruce Tate, officiating. Graveside Commital will be at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday at Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon. Darlene Usleton was born on October 12, 1955 to Charles and Nancy Walker Davis at Parks Air Force Base in Pleasanton, California. She graduated from Pampa High School in 1974 and graduated from Amarillo College in 1976. Darlene enjoyed music, playing the clarinet in high school, and was a past president of Canyon High School Band Booster Club. She married Tommy Dale Usleton in 1979 and has since divorced. Tommy is now married to Glenda Fessler. Darlene was a great granddaughter of W.L. Bill Lohberger, an early settler of Wheeler County. She enjoyed working with Affiliated Foods for 20 years in HBC and Tobacco Purchasing Dept. Darlene had been a resident in Canyon for 20 years. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Clarence and Louise Davis, an uncle, Jim Walker, an aunt, Ellie and her husband George Wilkinson. She went home to be with the Lord on January 1, 2006 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Survivors include one son, Sean Usleton and wife, Becky of Canyon, TX; grandson, Blake Usleton of Canyon, TX; parents, Nancy and Charles Davis of Clarendon, TX; grandparents, George C. and Dorothy Walker of Wheeler, TX; sister, D"Anne Woods and husband, Doug of Pflugerville, TX; two brothers, Danny Ray Davis of Amarillo, TX, and Don Alton Davis of Pampa, TX; sister-in-law, Dianne Davis of Amarillo; two nieces, Tiffany Baldwin and husband, Donnie of Point Mugu, CA, and Julie Anne Marie Woods of Pflugerville, TX; four nephews, Stephen Woods of Pflugerville, TX, Joshua Davis of Amarillo, William Davis of Amarillo, and Dylan Woods of Pflugerville, TX; three close friends, Janice Blandford of Amarillo, Connie Clark of Canyon, and Cindy Craig of Canyon. The family requests memorials be sent to Odyssey Hospice, 1000 S. Jefferson St., Amarillo, Texas 79101.
