Dana Sue Chandler, 86, of Amarillo, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 17th, 2023. She was born on September 21st, 1936, in Stanton, Texas. Services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, March 24, 2023 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon with Chris Thomas, officiating. Burial will be at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.

Dana grew up in El Paso, TX where she married her high school sweetheart, John Richard Chandler on March 14th, 1955. She was devoted to raising their two children, Tim and Mary. As one who loved the Lord dearly, she was a dedicated pastor’s wife who helped her husband serve several churches for many years.
In her later years, Granny became her favorite title as she poured love, support, and close friendship out to her 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She loved to travel and see the many sights of God’s creation. Dana and John made it to all 50 states and traveled across Route 66. Some of her favorite pastimes were singing hymns, watching the birds, playing with little ones of any age, and quilting.

She is preceded in death by her parents Helen O’Dell and Perle Lee Daniell, sister Olga Joy Rossow, and brother Terry A. O’Dell.

She is survived by John, her husband of 68 years; her son, Timothy Chandler and wife Enid of Pleasant Hill, MO; daughter, Mary Forsberg and husband David of Amarillo, TX; nine grandchildren, John Chandler and wife Michelle, Renie Neske and husband Chris, Anna Shanks and husband Darren, Zachary Forsberg and wife Kelsey, Noah Forsberg and wife Elizabeth, Bonnie Forsberg, Gabriel Forsberg, Olivia Forsberg, and Molly Forsberg; and twelve great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be made to Animal Rescue Shelter, Inc., 12500 S. FM 1541, Amarillo, TX 79118.
