Daisy Mae Conwell, 87, of Canyon passed away on Monday, January 20, 2020. Services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Brooks Chapel with Rev. Bob Miller, pastor of Crossroads Country Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Amarillo. Daisy Mae was born on October 12, 1932 in Lee County, Texas to James and Myrtist Mae Marshall Taylor. She married Douglas Eugene “Gene” Conwell on August 2, 1949 in Anson, Texas. He preceded her in death on November 26, 2002. Daisy was an excellent cook and an immaculate seamstress. She hated housework. She loved to paint and when she was younger, she also loved to bowl. She had four handsome and beautiful children. She adored her children and grandchildren. She was a member of South Georgia Baptist Church. Daisy Mae said, “I am a child of the King of Kings.” She was also preceded in death by her daughters, Connie Ruth Conwell and Vera Mae Reid and a grandson, Thomas Wayne Conwell. Survivors include her three sons, Billy Wayne Conwell and wife Lori of Amarillo, Darrell Conwell and Jon Conwell both of Canyon; daughter, Doris Armstrong and husband Lynn of Paris, AR; six grandchildren, Amy, Steven, Ty, Cliff, Amber Diane, and  Kyle; ten great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
