Obituary for C.S. THOMPSON

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 28 at the University Church of Christ with Bob Shepard, officiating. Interment will be at Dreamland Cemetery. C.S. "Doc" Thompson was born September 20, 1920 in Grant, Oklahoma to C.F. and Myrtle Thompson. He graduated from O"Donnell High in 1939, and then from West Texas State University in 1948 with a Master"s degree in Education. Doc married Beth Ferguson in 1947 in Amarillo. She preceded him in death in 2001. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during World War II. Doc purchased Modern Cleaners in 1949, sold it and purchased Buffalo Cleaners in 1953. He started teaching at Sam Houston Junior High in Amarillo as a shop teacher in 1959 retiring in 1977. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Toye Farrington and Ann Davenport; and a brother, Floyd Thompson. Survivors include his two sons, Dr. Tommy Thompson and wife, Linda, of Memphis, TN, David R. Thompson and wife, Anne of Lake Tanglewood; three daughters, Karen Williamson, of Tacoma, Washington, Karla Johnson, of Canyon, and Kem Dunbar, of Canyon; sister, Joyce Stubblefield, of Canyon; three brothers, Guy Thompson, of Crosbyton, Texas, David C. Thompson, of Farmington, New Mexico, and James D. Thompson, of Canyon; "Daddy Doc" also has sixteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to a favorite charity.
