Obituary for CRAWFORD RUTHART

Services will be at 4:00 P.M. on Monday, February 18, 2008 at the First Baptist Church of Canyon with Dr. Howard Batson, pastor of First Baptist Church of Amarillo, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Crawford Ruthart was born on May 11, 1926 in Leedy, Oklahoma to Leslie Crawford and Nora Wright Ruthart. He married Margaret Billingsley in Canyon on February 5, 1945. She preceded him in death on November 2, 2002. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served as a member of the 82nd Airborne. He was a self employed paint contractor and later formed the partnership, Ruthart and Williams, where he invented, manufactured and distributed the Vinotron computerized vinyl paper hanging machine. He was a member of the Senior Citizens in Canyon, Amarillo and Hereford, the Chamber of Commerce in Canyon, and a member of Top Hatters. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Amarillo and Canyon. He was also preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, a sister, and a son. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed. Survivors include three daughters, Sharon Annette Henry and Karen Sue Dulaney, both of Canyon, and Donna Gail Carter and her husband, David, of Amarillo; a sister, Pauline Lindley, of Fritch; a special friend, Margaret Sims, of Amarillo; six grandchildren, Michael Webb and wife, Angel, of Cypress, TX, Jeff Henry and wife, Jana, of Amarillo, Jason Dulaney, of Austin, Kevin Henry and wife, Courtney, of Amarillo, Matthew Webb, of Garland, TX, and Sara Dulaney and Casey McClure, of Amarillo; and eleven great grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Cal Farley"s Boys Ranch, PO Box 1890, Amarillo, Texas 79174.
