Obituary for Colene Brummett
Colene Brummett, 88, of Canyon, passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021. Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, August 16, 2021 at the First Assembly of God Church in Canyon with Rev. Janice Middaugh officiating. Burial will follow in Dreamland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Brooks Chapel.
Colene was born on June 11, 1933 in Childress County, Texas to William and Willie (Bell) Loven. She worked at Coopers Thriftway in Canyon for many years and then worked for Canyon Cares. She was a longtime member of Canyon First Assembly of God Church and loved her church family. Colene enjoyed sewing, especially sewing doll clothes for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and also enjoyed embroidering.
Colene was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Nancy Carlson, granddaughter, Nicole Brummett, three sisters, Dean, Jean, and Cheryl, and her brother, Robert.
Survivors include four children, Barbara Hawkins and husband, Tim, Judy Dickerson and husband, Richard, Larry Brummett and wife, Renee, and Robert Brummett and wife, Maria; ten grandchildren, Gena and Patrick Hawkins, Deana, Christopher, and Andrew Dickerson, Leslie Brummett Belieu, Matthew Brummett, Andrea Brummett Newell, Minnie Sanchez, and Juan Zapata; and 17 great-grandchildren.
