Obituary for CLARENCE EUGENE KIRKLEY

Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 21 at Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel. Celebration of life services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 21 in the North Ministry Center at Trinity Fellowship Church. Clarence Eugene 'Gene' Kirkley was born June 14, 1930 to Clarence and Rena Mae Gilbert Kirkley in Claremore, Oklahoma. He graduated from Claremore High School. Gene served in the U.S. Army, lived in Claremore, Oklahoma and Perryton, Texas, and then moved to Canyon in 1971. He was the manager of the M.E. Moses Company for 28 years. He married Barbara Hudgins on November 22, 1981 at Trinity Fellowship Church in Amarillo. After his ""retirement,"" he was active with the Canyon Senior Citizens Association. He worked for the Canyon Independent School District, Canyon Police Department, and Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse of Amarillo. He will be remembered for his hard working ethics. He was a member of the Early Morning McDonald's Breakfast Club. Gene was a loving father and husband and a great story teller. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Bob and Jess Kirkley, a sister, Liddie Belle Lewis, and his first wife, Joan Gunter Kirkley. Survivors include his wife, Barabara; daughters, Lynnette Amick and husband, Johnny, of Huntsville, TX, Suzanne Shaw and husband, Clifton, of Slaton, TX, and Bari Moulin and husband, Mark, of Frazier Park, CA; two grandsons; one granddaughter; and two great grandsons. Gene is also survived by a brother, Curtis Kirkley and wife, Kathrine, of Hutchinson, KS; three sisters, Virginia Janos and husband, Ted, of Claremore, OK, Dorothy Chapman, of Shreveport, LA, and Letha MacDonald and husband, Mervyn, of Corpus Christi, TX; and many nieces and nephews.
