Clara Joann Grabber, 62, of Canyon passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2019 in Amarillo.  Rosary will be said on Friday, May 3, 2019 at 7:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel in Canyon.  Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Umbarger with Fr. Grant Spinhirne officiating.  Inurnment will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Clara was born on January 14, 1957 in Canyon to John and Mary Rietman Grabber.  She graduated from Canyon High School in 1975 and received her associate’s degree in medical records from Amarillo College.  Clara worked in medical records for several years and then worked in the Randall County Clerk’s office.  She also worked in retail, was the Postmaster in Umbarger and Dawn for many years and recently retired from the City of Amarillo.  Clara was passionate about animals, loved gardening, cooking, and was a professional seamstress.  She was also an avid ‘collector of friends’. Clara was preceded in death by her mother and a brother, Jim Grabber.  Survivors include her father, John Grabber; three sisters, Pat Grabber, Bernadette Townsend, and Irene Grabber; one brother, Tom Grabber and wife, Tonya; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and numerous friends. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to your local humane society or perhaps plant a rosebush in your yard.
