Obituary for Churchman Kane Howell

Churchman Kane Howell, 17, of Canyon, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2018.  Memorial services will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Monday, December 10, 2018 at the University Church of Christ in Canyon with Chris Roberts, Youth Pastor, officiating.  Churchman Kane Howell was born on October 4, 2001 in San Marcos to Jason and Lindy Sells Howell.  He was attending Canyon High School where he was a member of the Spanish Honor Society, Spanish Club, STEM Club, and the Canyon Eagle Tennis Team.  Churchman loved tennis and playing video games.  He also enjoyed the outdoors and looked forward to becoming a game warden.  He was fondly known as ‘Winston’ and dearly loved his family, friends, and his dogs, Hank, Holly, and Jack.  Churchman was an avid fan of Houston sports, the Rockets, Texans, and Astros.  He was always helping others, taking care and coaching them.  He was his sister and brother’s biggest fan and pushed and supported them.  Churchman worked at Schlotzsky’s.   Churchman was preceded in death by an uncle, Ryan Sells, of Amarillo.  He is survived by his parents, Jason and Lindy Howell of Canyon; his sister, Jalyn Howell of Oklahoma City; brother, Richmond Howell, of Canyon; grandparents, Mike and Jolita Sells of Pampa and Kevin and Karla Howell of White Deer; great grandmother, Kay Mayo of New Braunfels;  aunt, Kerri Howell of Alaska; two uncles, Brandon Howell and family of White Deer and Blake Howell of Canyon; and numerous other family and friends. The family would like to send a special thank you to the churches of Canyon, their friends and family for their love and support during this time. The family suggests memorials be to any Happy State Bank location to Lindy Howell or Jolita Sells, for the benefit of Churchman Howell.
