Obituary for CHRISTOPHER GEORGE COBERLEY

Services will be 11:00 A.M. on Saturday , December 10, 2005 at Westcliff Bible Church of Amarillo with Pastor Steven Waterhouse and Amarillo Police Chaplain Merrill Gilbert, officiating. Graveside services will be 3:00 P.M. at Memory Gardens in Pampa, Texas with Rev. Jim Powell, Pastor of Hobart Baptist Church of Pampa, officiating. Chris Coberley was born December 21, 1968 in Pampa, Texas to Chancie and Nancy Margret Coberley. He graduated from Tascosa Highschool in 1987, where he was active in the debate club and baseball team. Chris joined the U.S. Army in January of 1988 and was trained as a Military Police Officer. He was stationed in Germany where he met his wife, Vera Hohmann, and they were married in 1991. After Chris"s four year tour of duty, they moved to Amarillo. Chris attended the 62nd Panhandle Regional Police Academy in 1992. He then went to work for the Randall County Sheriff "s Office where he was a deputy for 9 years. In 2001, Chris was employed by McCoy Meyers as a computer programer. He graduated from West Texas A & M University in 2004 with a Bachelor degree in Computer Science. Survivors include his wife, Vera Hohmann of Amarillo; son, Harrison George Coberley of Amarillo; mother, Nancy Margret Coberley of Wichita Falls; Father and stepmother, Chancie and Iva Ann Coberley of Sunday Canyon; one sister, Lucretia Anne Stephens and husband, Shawn of Snyder, OK; one brother, John Jeffrey Coberley and wife, Stacey of Wichita Falls; one step brother, Alex Chancia and wife, Kristen of Amarillo; grandparents, Doris Coberley of Pampa, W. C. and Doris Miller of Glenpool, OK, and Bill and Betty Tedder of Abilene; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. The family asks memorial be sent to American Brain Tumor Association or American Cancer Society.
