Services will be at 2:00 PM on Friday Oct. 21, 2005 at the First Baptist Church of Happy with Rev. Max Beggs, pastor of Family Worship Center of Amarillo and Rev. Paul Burwash, pastor of First Baptist Church of Happy, officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, October 20, 2005 at Happy"s Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Wayside Cemetery, Wayside, Texas. Charles Jackson Wesley was born June 2, 1912 at Happy, TX to Alvin and Lillie Gatten Wesley. He attended High School at West Texas Normal School in Canyon. He married Inez Shipman at Fairview Church in 1939. She preceded him in death in 1952. He was an avid reader of Reader"s Digest and all local papers. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Happy. He was preceded in death by his parents five brothers and two sisters. Survivors include one daughter, Charlene Jackson and husband, Tom, of Amarillo; one son, Ronnie Wesley and wife, Thena, of Amarillo; granddaughter, Paula Gowman and husband, Ron, of Plainview; two grandsons, Theron Wesley, of Amarillo, and Lance Wesley and wife, Hilary, Coppell, TX; two great granddaughters, Sara Gowman, of Plainview and Kenneda Wesley, of Coppell, Texas; and one great grandson, Michael Gowman, of Plainview.
