Obituary for Charles Richard "Rick" Davis
Charles Richard “Rick” Davis, 73, of Canyon passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023. Memorial services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, July 17, 2023 at Hillside Christian Church - Amarillo West Campus Chapel. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 16, 2023 from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel in Canyon.
Rick was born April 12, 1950 in Shamrock, Texas to Marvin and Jewell (Bradley) Davis. He graduated from Canyon High School in 1969. Rick continued his education at West Texas State University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in industrial distribution.
On September 15, 1979, Rick married Kim Doan in Amarillo. Kim and Rick loved playing golf together. Rick spent most of his career working in the trucking industry.
He thoroughly enjoyed telling “Dad Jokes” and making others laugh. He was selfless, kind, loving, and the most gentle and genuine guy. He cherished his family deeply and was everything a husband, father, and grandfather should be.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his three brothers, Harold, Don, and Ronnie Davis.
Survivors include his wife, Kim Davis; daughter, Whitney Fernandez; son, Jordan Draper Davis; grandchildren, Raylee, Ryan, and Reece Fernandez, and Maddox Davis; sister, Barbara Dewey; numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
The family suggests memorials be made to Canyon High School Boys Cross Country, 2411 16th Ave, Canyon, TX 79015.
