Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, November 21, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Happy with Dr. Richard Shaw, pastor, officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Happy’s Memorial Chapel. Viewing will be in Happy’s Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Happy Cemetery. Betty Carolyn Bowe was born on May 23, 1942 in Stamford, Texas to A.J. and Nettie Marie Sluder Henderson. She graduated from Happy High School in 1960 and then went to beauty college. She married and had two children, Julie and Clint. She worked as a bakery manager for many years. In 2000, Carolyn reunited with her high school sweetheart, Richard L. Bowe. In high school she was a cheerleader and he was the captain of the football team. They married in 2001 and spent 15 happy years together in Houston before moving to Happy Falls Ranch in Wayside before her passing. Carolyn loved her family, crafting, and the outdoors, but her very favorite thing was to sit on her porch at the lake house or the canyon and watch the sunrise. She was a pistol and stubborn to the core. She was also a caretaker, working all the time to make sure everyone was taken care of. She put everyone before herself. Survivors include her husband, Richard L. Bowe; a sister, Joyce Wilson; her daughter, Julie D. Holmes and husband, Jim; her son, Clint Griggs; her stepdaughter, Melissa D. Cavazos and husband, Lee; two stepsons, Lance Bowe and Rex Bowe and wife, Christi; and nine grandchildren.
