Obituary for CARLENE LANGLEY

A memorial service will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 3, 2016 at Brooks Chapel, 1702 5th Avenue in Canyon. Friends and family are invited to speak at the service. Carlene Denise Langley, 59, of Canyon, died on Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, 2016. She was born January 27, 1957 at Emporia, Kansas to Carl and Peggy Langley. She earned four degrees: in social work, psychology, computer science and physical therapy. She had no children of her own, but always enjoyed visiting and spending time with her numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Carlene was a dog lover and almost always had one by her side. Her beloved Golden Retriever and longtime companion, Goldie, died less than a year before she did. She also enjoyed playing guitar and collecting knives and swords. She is survived by her mother, of their Canyon home; a brother, Jeff Langley of Amarillo; two sisters, Shayne Cox and her husband, Val, of Converse; Dorliss Kourey and her husband, Nassef, of Cedar Hill; two nephews, four nieces, six great-nephews and five great-nieces.
