Bruce Hendrickson, 50, of Canyon, died Saturday, December 22, 2001. Services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 26, 2001 at Brooks Chapel with Rev. David Lowrie, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Bruce Hendrickson was born on October 11, 1951 at Lubbock, Texas to Robert and Ola Faye Crowell Hendrickson, Jr. He began first grade in Lubbock then moved to Canyon in 1959. He was a graduate of Canyon High School and was active in the school choir from Jr. High through High School. He attended West Texas State University from 1975 to 1976. He enjoyed playing golf and was an avid football fan. Bruce was a member of First Baptist Church of Canyon. He was employed by West Texas A&M University Physical Plant until the time of his death. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Bruce Hendrickson, Jr. in 1974. Survivors include his mother, Ola Faye Hendrickson, of Canyon; one brother, Larry Hendrickson, of Colorado Springs, CO; two nieces, Amber & Jamie Hendrickson, of Amarillo, one nephew, Shaun Hendrickson, and wife, Laura, of Canyon and their mother, Donna Hendrickson, of Canyon; and a lifetime friend, Phillip Brandt, of Umbarger. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity.
