Brenda Penn, 59, of Canyon passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2019. Memorial services will be at 3:30 P.M. Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at Brooks Chapel with Bob Miller, officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 3 from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors. Brenda was born on June 14, 1960 in Amarillo, Texas to George Penn and Betty Collins. She was a graduate of Happy High School. Brenda worked for 32 years as the cafeteria manager at Reeves Hinger Elementary School in Canyon. She served 3,047,577 meals and worked 47,104 hours and knew each child’s name during those 32 years. She was a great cook. Her sausage bread was everyone’s favorite. Brenda was a devoted mother and was committed to her family. She was very involved with any of the events that her great nieces were participating in. She was preceded in death by her father, George Penn, mother, Betty Davis, step-mom, Sue Penn, step-dad, Bob Davis, grandparents, Bill and Alice Penn and Stephen and Della Collins and nephew, Ricky Osborn. Survivors include her son, Dustin Penn and girlfriend Kelsey Kennedy; two sisters, Debra Kincade and husband Charles, Shirley Calhoun and husband Eugene; brother, Derick Collins and wife Sondra; niece, Sheryl Chavez and husband Terry; nephew, Brand Collins; great nieces, Chloe Chavez and Maddison Chavez; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
