Obituary for BOYD C. GLOVER

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at the University Church of Christ with David Lough, minister, and Bob Shepard, elder, officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Boyd Cole Glover was born Feb 4, 1922, in Turner, Montana. A long time Canyon resident, he passed away August 2, 2010 at Ussery-Roan TX Veteran"s Home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Cole Glover and Allie Belle (Duncan) Glover. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn (Smith) Glover, one son and eight siblings. During WWII, he served in both the Army and Navy, receiving an honorable discharge in November 1945. Following the war, Boyd was a gospel preacher. He is survived by his second wife, Wilma (Newbrough) Johnston Glover. Surviving children include: Benny Glover, Kay Glover, Larry Glover, Mickey Glover, Joe Glover, Loyd Johnston, Dennis Johnston, Carolyn Trimmell, Dale Johnston, and Evanna Betcher. He is aslo survived by a sister, Pat Smith, and a brother, Raymond Glover. There are 16 surviving grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Hospice Care of the Southwest, 1301 S. Coulter, Ste 404 Amarillo, Tx 79106; the Christian Relief Fund, PO Box 19670 Amarillo, TX 79114-1670; or a favorite charity.
