Obituary for Bobby Stennett

Bobby Stennett, 75, of Amarillo, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2022.

Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Brooks Chapel with Chaplain Bryan Van Meter, officiating.

Bobby was born January 2, 1947 in Lubbock, Texas to George and Creta (Townsend) Stennett. Bobby was a hard worker. He worked in the utility and maintenance department at Owens Corning for 20 years. He then spent 21 years working for the City of Canyon as the head of the street and sanitation department. He took a lot of pride in his work and was well respected by his fellow colleagues.

Bobby was a member of the International Karting Federation and the Panhandle Boat and Ski Club. He loved fast cars and fast boats. He was a competitive water skier and held the record for the longest ski jump in the state of Texas in 1968.

Bobby loved one woman his entire life. He was lovingly called “Grumpy” by his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Creta Stennett and a sister, Jonelle Etheridge.

Survivors include his son, Brandon Stennett and wife, Lissie; daughter, Teresa Conant and husband, Randy; son, Todd Burkham and wife, Debbie; grandchildren, Kloi Asplof and husband, Avin, Jax Stennett, Madox Stennett, Brittany Bates and husband, Lundy, Austin O’Brien, Kanon Conant, Kendal Conant, Kross Conant, Lauren Bijelic and husband, Miro, and Jordan Burkham; great grandchildren, Aspen Bates, Raelyn Cowell, Niko Bijelic, and Karter Asplof; sisters, Debbie Coffman, Sheri Palmer, and Lavon Mackey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
