Obituary for BOBBY EDWIN BRANUM

Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, November 3, 2008 at Brooks Chapel with Kurt Oheim, pastor of Pinnacle Community Church, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Bobby Edwin "Bob" Branum was born on May 30, 1941 in Paris, Texas to Doris C. and Lorene Boss Branum. He graduated from Palo Duro High School and served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Cold War Germany where he stood watch on the Berlin Wall. He married his lifetime love, Ramona Osborn, in Amarillo in 1959. He lived in Canyon for the past 25 years and was a retired sheet metal worker. He was a member of Local Union 49, and the American Legion. Throughout the course of his life, Bob was generous to those he knew in many capacities. He donated several gallons of blood to the Coffee Memorial Blood Center and donated plasma on countless occasions. He was always there for family and friends in their time of need. Bob was an avid learner and history buff, and a wizard with crossword puzzles. The last several years, he enjoyed tending his flower and vegetable gardens and the company of his dogs, especially "Pup." Bob was preceded in death by Ramona in 2000, his parents, one brother, Dan Allen Branum, and a son, Bobby Dale Branum, in 1994. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. Survivors include two daughters, Teena Billstrom, of Amarillo and Mary Branum, of Michigan; two sons, Raymond Branum, of Canyon and Mark Branum and wife, Lisa, of Amarillo; four sisters, Margaret Cox, of Amarillo, Carolyn Sue Davis, of Roxton, TX, Shirley Myers, of Amarillo, and Doris Ann Branum, of Roxton, TX; a brother, Clifford Branum, of Roxton, TX; nine grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
