Obituary for Bob Law

Bob Law, 89, of Canyon, passed away on Friday, May 14, 2021. Private family services will be held.

Bob was born on June 9, 1931 in Childress to L.L. and Lilly (Rogers) Law. He graduated from Borger High School in 1950 and served in the U.S. Airforce from 1950 to 1954, where he was a USAF Instructor. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree at Texas Tech University in 1958, his Master of Education Degree at West Texas State University in 1966, and his Master of Agriculture also from WTSU, in 1980. Bob greatly valued education and taught Science, Biology, and was a counselor at Sanford ISD from 1959 to 1970. He then worked at PESO Education Service Center XVI until 1974 and Texas State Technical Institute until 1975. He married Nancy Tomlinson in Canyon in 1974. In 1975, he began managing and overseeing farm and ranch operations in Randall and Castro Counties, which he continued and loved for many years.

Bob was a member of Texas Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, Randall County Junior Livestock Association, Texas Wheat Growers Association, Texas Grain Producers Association, Randall County Farm Bureau, and National Block and Bridle Club. He loved leatherworking, enjoyed rodeoing, and was passionate about his farming and ranching. Having taught himself, Bob was fluent in speaking Spanish and enjoyed running in to anyone he could engage in a conversation in Spanish. Bob was also very creative and artistic.

Bob is survived by his wife of 47 years, Nancy Law; five children, Chris Wilkinson and wife, Robin, Kim Veasey and husband Gil, Rob Law and wife, Gina, Lanny Wilkinson and wife, Megan, and Leslie Wilkinson-Allen; seventeen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brother, Alvie Burdine and wife, Gail; and sister, Ava Berry and husband, Robert.
