Obituary for Bland Levitt

Bland Levitt, 64, of Amarillo, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022. Family directed Celebration of Life will be at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Elks Lodge.

Bland was born on December 13, 1957 in Amarillo to Kenneth and Beryl (Renner) Levitt. He was a guy’s guy – enjoying the outdoors, reading, and music were some of his favorite pastimes. He told great stories to his children and grandchildren and could also enjoy sitting in silence. During football season, Bland could be found cheering on the Cowboys and watching as many games as possible. Cooking became a hobby as he discovered the cooking channel, and from then on he prepared the most delicious meals. He was the fixer of many things and was even able to help mend some broken hearts along the way. Bland was detailed in his work and always aimed for perfection on every job. For those blessed to call Bland a friend – know he was loyal and fun. His family was his top priority, and he did his best to provide. Bland encouraged his kids to reach for the stars and never missed an opportunity to convey his pride. He inherited a good laugh from his mom, whom he loved with every fiber of his being. He adored his sisters and nieces and regarded these ladies with such pride and love.

Bland was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Wayne Levitt and wife, Kathy, brother-in-law, Timmie Richard Harper, stepdad, Roger (Rogo) Reynolds, and stepsister, Diane Koetting.

Survivors include his mother, Beryl Rae Reynolds; two sisters, Lisa Golden and husband, Chuck and Laura Harper; son, Justin Jasper; daughter, Heather Lothes and husband, Andrew; three granddaughters, Abby, Hayden, and Hadley Kate; stepbrother, Dusty Reynolds; and three nieces, Brandi, Kaci, and Charli.
