Services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 24 at the University Church of Christ with David Lough, minister, and Byron Brunson, officiating. Burial will follow at Happy Cemetery in Happy. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 23 from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel. Billie Ann was born November 30, 1930 to Elmer Morgan and Hazel Bishop in Longhorn. She attended high school at Dallas Sunset High School, Dublin High School and then graduated from Wink High School. Ann met Bill Looney in Dublin while she was still attending high school there. She and two of her girlfriends had heard there were guys in town so they went to a basketball game. Bill had to decide between the three girls whom to choose, and he chose Ann. He asked her out everyday for the next week. Bill came home for a football game between the exes from DeLeon and Dublin. Bill and Ann had been dating three months. Bill played the first half of the football game and then married Ann at halftime on December 27, 1946. He preceded her in death in 2014 after 67 years of marriage. Ann was a member of the University Church of Christ where she loved attending the ladies class. She spent the last two years living at Hillside Heights Nursing Home where she felt it was her responsibility to help take care of all the other residents. Ann loved life, her family, friends, the prison and jail ministry, and the color pink. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Betty Hailey, and her mother, Hazel Simpson. Survivors include two sons, Terry Looney and his wife Diana of Weatherford, and Greg Looney and his wife Terri of Canyon; five grandkids, Tara Laminack and her husband David of Weatherford, Trey Looney and his wife Bethany of Roanoke, Kobe Looney and his wife Laura of Hutto, Kali Peddy and her husband Jared of Canyon, and Tori Sills of Canyon; and nine great grandkids, Anson, Jayton and Becton Laminack, Julia, Gabe, and Abby Looney, and Daxon, Maddox, and Lennox Peddy. The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at Hillside Heights Nursing Home and also to Dr. Larry McAfee for taking such wonderful care of Ann.
