Beverly Rae Grimes,78, of Amarillo, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2023. Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon with Gene Jones officiating. The family will begin receiving friends at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, prior to the service.

Beverly was born on June 3, 1945 in Dalhart to Robert and Juanita (Stanfield) Bolster. She was a 1963 graduate of Stratford High School and attended West Texas State University where she studied education. Beverly married Jerry Grimes in Amarillo on January 22, 1971. She retired after many years as librarian for the Sherman County Public Library.

Beverly was a master cross stitcher and enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading her cookbooks, and collecting jewelry. She treasured being surrounded by friends and family, but her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents and her sister and brother-in-law, Charlene and Ed Smith.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Grimes; son, Brent Grimes and wife, Gina; daughter, Kelly Adams and husband, Jason; two stepsons, Marvin Grimes and wife, Kelley, and Darren Grimes and wife, Liz; seven grandchildren, Zachary, Tanner, and Madison Grimes, Klay and Kolby Adams, and Dee and Drue Grimes.

The family suggests memorials be to Shriners Children’s Hospital, PO Box 328, Amarillo, TX 79105.
