Obituary for Betty Jean Markham

Mrs. Markham was born February 25, 1927 to Arthur and Ella Coulter in Panhandle, Texas. Mrs. Markham was employed by the Blasdel Family. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Canyon. She served as an elder, deacon, Women"s Association President and on various church committees. She was board member of Amarillo Opportunity School. Mrs. Markham was past president of the Women"s Division of Canyon Chamber of Commerce, coordinator and director for Meals on Wheels of Canyon, and member of the Amarillo Fine Arts Association. She also was secretary-treasurer of the Canyon Eagle Booster Club, served on Panhandle Plains Historical Museum Auxiliary and was auxiliary leader for Christmas open houses. She was preceded in death by daughter, Linda Florine. She is survived by son, Roy and wife, Toi; grandchildren David Preston Hargrove and Scott Markham, a niece Patricia Yedinak and great niece and nephew, Portia Catharine Yedinak and Sean Yedinak The family requests memorials to the First Presbyterian Church in Canyon, 904 19th Street, Canyon, Texas 79015 or a favorite charity.
