Obituary for BETTY GARRETT

Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at Fairview Cemetery in Stamford, Texas. Betty was born on May 4, 1921 in Leonard, North Dakota to Charles and Nellie Browne Roberts. She later moved to Audubon, Minnesota, where she graduated from high school. Betty worked in the shipyards in Oregon as a welder, where she met Ford Garrett. Betty and Ford married on May 2, 1944. They lived in many places, including Alaska, before settling down in Wichita Falls, Texas, where they had a surplus tool business for many years. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, five sisters, and four brothers. Survivors include sister, Zoe Headland, of Fargo, ND; sister-in-law, Opal Eddleman, of Canyon; brother-in-law, Arwood Garrett, of Wichita Falls; numerous nieces and nephews, Bill and Gay Seals, of Canyon, Butch and Patty Garrett, of Miller, Missouri, and Jack and Linda Garrett, of Dallas. The family suggests that memorials be sent to the Fairview Cemetery Stamford, Texas.
