Services will be at 10:00 AM onMonday August 4, 2003 at the University Church of Christ with David Lough, minister, officiating. The family will receive friends at Brooks Chapel Sunday August 3, 2003 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Avalon Bridges was born October 9, 1939, in Paducah, TX. She was a graduate of Canyon High School and West Texas State University. In addition to being a member of the University Church of Christ, she was a devoted daughter, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She was preceded in death by her father, Ellis Arthur Brown. Survivors include her mother, Vera Brown, of Canyon; one daughter, Sonja Jellison, of Canyon; one son, Carter Harvey, of Canyon; one sister, Dorothy Chapin, of Warrenville, IL; four grandchildren, Shawna Simpson, Meghan Bedrosian, Matthew Jellison and Alexis Jellison.
