Obituary for Anna Pauline Woolsey

Anna Pauline Woolsey, 91, of Canyon, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2022. Memorial services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Brooks Chapel with Julie Simmons and Paul Hudson officiating.

Anna was born on February 28, 1931 in Channing to Franklin and Olga (Wiseman) Seales. She lost her dad when she was 13 years old and had to grow up quickly. She and PH Woolsey (the love of her life) married in 1947. They had been married for 75 years on his death eleven days earlier. Anna was first of all Mom, but so much more. She supported Harold’s work no matter if it was driving a truck or being a mechanic. She and Harold also took care of their old maids, G’ma Wiseman and Anna’s mother, Olga Seales, until their deaths.

Anna LOVED people, was a loving and accepting person, and never met a stranger. She and Harold traveled extensively for about 15 years before retiring. They were campground hosts all over Colorado and met and loved many, many people. After retiring, she continued to love and enjoy every single person that came to the back door. She loved each and every Meals-on-Wheels volunteer that entered the home. She also loved all her nurses and caretakers that took care of her in her last days. Most of all, she loved her family dearly. She delighted in her Grandchildren and helped raise many of them. She was the glue that held her family together. She had such a wonderful booming laugh and enjoyed life to the fullest.

She was preceded in death by a son, Darrell, in 2005, a sister, Lorene Benham in 2021, and her husband, Harold Woolsey in 2022. Survivors include a son, David and wife Carolyn of Hobbs, New Mexico; two daughters Pam of Canyon and Paula Harris and husband Bobby of the home; a daughter-in-love, Judy of Roaring Springs, Texas; 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren.
