Anita Jean (Hand) Robinson, 77, of Canyon, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2019. Memorial services will be at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at the University Church of Christ with David Lough, minister, Jake Perkins, minister of the Canadian Church of Christ, and Sam Roberson, officiating. Anita was born on November 29, 1941 in Harlingen, Texas to Roscoe Hand and Verdie Barnett Hand McWhorter. In 1959, she graduated from Coachella Valley High School in Coachella, California. She was her Senior Class President and a majorette. On September 2, 1961, she married James “Jimmy” Robinson in Indio, California. He preceded her in death in 2016. While in Indio she spent 12 years working in the Indio High School Cafeteria. She was also a telephone operator. She lived in many places including Harlingen, Texas; Clovis, New Mexico; San Jon, New Mexico; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Indio, California; Cloudcroft, New Mexico; and Canyon, Texas. Anita enjoyed water skiing, boogie boarding, camping, bowling, activities at church, ladies bible class, getting donuts for her fellow residents at Palo Duro Retirement Village, and following her grandchildren in all their activities. She served Jesus to others at the Indio Church of Christ, Cloudcroft Church of Christ and the University Church of Christ in Canyon. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Harold Hand and Bobby Hand. Survivors include her two daughters, Stacey Roberson and husband Sam, DeeDee Lynch and husband Kyle; grandchildren, Samantha Crowl and husband Andy, Savannah Roberson, Tyler Lynch, Sawyer Roberson and wife Jordan, Matthew Lynch, Sydney Roberson; and great granddaughter, Emery Crowl.
