Obituary for Anita Gayle (Gibson) Lucero

Anita Gayle (Gibson) Lucero, 50, of Amarillo, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023. Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Trinity Fellowship Church - Student Ministry Center in Amarillo with Pastor Kyle Wilkinson officiating. Burial will follow at Llano Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon.

Anita was born on September 15, 1973 in Dumas, Texas to Imagene (Wilson) Gibson and Richard (Dick) Gibson. She attended Caprock High School, later completing her GED. She married Johnny Lucero on September 30, 1995 in Amarillo.

Anita was a wonderful homemaker and cook and was an excellent interior decorator. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her yard and flowers. She loved Christ first and foremost, and dearly loved her family, friends, and her dogs. Spoiling her son, grandkids, and nieces and nephews was one of her greatest joys along with shopping with her sister. Anita loved the outdoors, going to the mountains or the beach. Her family and friends will lovingly remember her as fearless and loyal.

Anita was preceded in death by her Grandpa and Grandma Wilson and her Grandpa and Grandma Canon.

Survivors include her husband, Johnny Lucero of Amarillo; her son, Seth Lucero; two stepsons, Johnathan Lucero and Jacob Lucero and wife, Venny; two step granddaughters, Mina and Mavis; mother, Imagene Rainey and husband, Stevon of Amarillo; father, Dick Gibson and wife Cindy of Amarillo; brother, Rick Gibson and wife, Donalee of Amarillo; sister, Denene Craven and husband, Mickey of Amarillo; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends that she loved deeply.
