Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at Dreamland Cemetery with Dr. David L. Lowrie, Jr., pastor of First Baptist Church of Canyon, officiating. Amanda "Gene" Crow was born on December 22, 1923 in Randall County, Texas to Ishom and Cora Currie Hollabaugh. She married Billie Ray Crow on July 17, 1947 in Canyon. He preceded her in death in 1992. Gene worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone for 35 years, 4 months, and 11 days. She retired in 1978. Gene also worked at Telephone Pioneer America Company. Gene was a member of the telephone company bowling league and the First Baptist Church. She also served on the Dreamland Cemetery Board. After retirement she enjoyed traveling. She was known as the "Cookie Lady." Survivors include a son, Terrill "Terry" Edwin Crow, of Canyon, TX; a sister, Catherine Thompson, of Midland, TX; a granddaughter, Kayle Marie Crow, of Anna, TX; and grandson, Case Edwin Crow, of Longview, TX. The family suggests memorials be made to Dreamland Cemetery, P.O. Box 38 Canyon, TX 79015.
