Services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at Brooks Chapel, Canyon, Texas with Mike Kuhlman and Gary Kuhlman, officiating. Burial will be at Dreamland Cemetery. Allen was born on August 21, 1917 to Walter and Cora McCurry Sparks in Austwell, Texas. He married Billie Alley in Canyon, Texas in 1947. Allen was a U.S. Navy veteran. He served on the U.S.S. Thornton, Destroyer (AVD 11) and was stationed out of Pearl Harbor. He was a retired mechanic, farmer, and rancher. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Willie Warren Sparks and Walter Jackson Sparks, Jr., and a grandson, Marcus Allen Sparks Jr. Survivors are his wife, Billie Alley Sparks of the home, three sons, Marcus Allen Sparks and wife, Molly of Victoria, TX, Leslie Gale Sparks and wife, Linda of Lakeview, TX, Jimmy Dale Sparks of Canyon, TX; one sister, Lucille Sparks Heinrich of Edna, TX; four brothers Wallace "Sonny" Sparks of Victoria, TX, Calvin W. "Cowboy" Sparks of Victoria, TX, Dale Sparks of Victoria, TX, and Kenneth R. Sparks of Sweeny, TX; seven grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. Family asks memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society.
