Obituary for ADA MAE TOWNSEND

Services will be at 4:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 23 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. John McClean, pastor, officiating. The family will receive friends at 7602 Norwood, in The Greenways in Amarillo, from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. Monday, December 22. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Ada Mae Townsend was born September 14, 1922 in Canyon, Texas to Earnest and Lilly Colt Prichard. She graduated from Canyon High School. In 1955, she married Bill Townsend in Clovis, New Mexico. Ada Mae was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She owned and managed Playhouse Daycare until she sold it in 1992. She was a good mother, wife, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved the Lord. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Camp, a husband, O.D. Breitling in 1954, and a granddaughter, Jarni Jean Breitling. Survivors include her husband, Bill Townsend, of the home; five sons, Jack Breitling and wife, Carol, of Amarillo; Don Breitling and wife, Karen, of Amarillo; Darrell Breitling and wife, Debbie, of McKinney, Jerry Townsend and wife, Debra, of Amarillo, and Terry Townsend and wife, Anita, of Amarillo; sister, Nettie Platt, of Canyon; seventeen grandchildren, and twenty-three great grandchildren. The family requests that memorials be made to the Nancy Camp Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Happy State Bank, 1908 4th Avenue, Canyon, TX 79015.
